* GENERAL INFORMATION Between town of Turin and Aosta Valley, where landscape is a mixture of plan and green hills of chestnut trees, is situated the small countryside village of Montalenghe: it has neither glorious past times nor historical events to mention, but it simply offers nowadays peace and relax. Its closeness to highway A5 makes this place a valid base for business or leisure travellers. It is located in the area of Erbaluce vineyards, among the castles of Canavese, where recently various TV productions have developed, in the moreinic amphitheatre of Ivrea, one of the largest Alps glacial region surrounded by smooth hills, different lakes and big mountains. You can breathe pure air of the neighbouring forests, but in 20 minutes by car you can be at the gate of Turin or, in 40 minutes, at Paradise gate, that is Gran Paradiso National Park. * * * * * Our bed & breakfast is situated in the centre of the village, a slightly hilly area straight on municipal road. Our guests can: - use car parking in courtyard - have breakfast, play with kids or simply relax under a fresh arcade - use the structure as logistic base for daily excursions in the suburbs - have fun by running or cycling through wood tracks all around, well known by owners - enjoy themselves with one of several decorative arts developed by owner, such as decoupage, stencil or salt paste. * THE HOUSE It was the grandparents simple rustic house, built with many efforts and hard work; in spite of this, its door was always open to feast, but also to share works, such as corn and grape harvest. The house has been completely renewed, but some traces of hard life passed have remained: there was the stall, the room where grapes were hung to desiccated for production of famous wine “passito” or where salami were smoked to be preserved for long time. In this way, the stall has been transformed in living-room, wine-cellar is now a quiet room for reading and rest; out from walls you can see big stones used in old times as main building material; out from wall-ceilings are still visible wooden keystones; old bent tiles have become now wall lamps. This is a warm and cosy place that we decided to share with others; we like simple things and you will find a quiet and relaxing place, well equipped to meet all your needs. Bedroom arrangement is inspired by local country traditions. The grape room has light and yellow tonalities, similar to Erbaluce vineyards tipical of this area. It is a large and bright double-bed room, equipped with built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, writer desk, armchair and with a possible additional bed (on request). It has direct access to terrace and its own bathroom is at ground level. The pumpkins room has orange and sunny tonalities, to recall old poor country food. It is a double-bed room equipped with wardrobe, armchairs and eventual third bed. Bathroom is just in front of entrance door and is equipped with bath and hydro massage shower; the room has direct access to terrace. The mushrooms and chestnuts room has brown and warm tonalities, similar to our forests hills. It is a double- bed room equipped with wardrobe, armchairs and eventual third bed. Moreover we offer you a large dining room to have your breakfast, a relax corner with armchairs and TV and, on particular request (i.e. baby meal), kitchen room. * HOW TO REACH US BY CAR From Turin, Aosta or Milan you can easily drive on highway A5 and use exit S.Giorgio. After that, turn on the right direction Caluso; at first crossroads on the left (follow signposts), straight on, till Montalenghe. At first traffic light, turn on the right and at first crossroads get on the left: straight on 300 mt you will find the house on the left. BY TRAIN From Turin you can reach us by using: * local railway GTT till San Benigno, then bus line direction Ivrea * local railway Turin – Aosta till Caluso, then use local bus BY AIR Airport Turin – Caselle is about 30 km far from here. Then, by car, you can either use highway A5 (entrance Volpiano direction Aosta) or use Stare Road 460 till Lombardore, then direction San Benigno and San Giusto. BY BUS Montalenghe is on the bus line Turin – Ivrea. Bus stop is about 400 mt from our B&B. Children under 6 are free.
